A TEACHING PLAN

Teaching content:Unit2 Book4 (Using language:Extensive reading)

Date:May 23th,2017.

Designer:Zheng zaijie

Teaching aims:

1. Knowledge Aims:

1).Get the students to know about chemical farming and organic farming.

2).Let the students learn some useful words and expressionsins this part

2.Ability aims:

    1).Develop the students’reading skills by extensive reading and enable them to learn how to use different reading skillsto reading materials

    2).Have the students tell about modern agriculture and organic farming.

 3).Enable the students to learn to write a summary after reading.

3.Emotional aims:

    1).Let the students have a better understanding of farming and pay attention to the quality of foodwe eat.

 2).Develop the students’sense of group cooperation and teamwork.

Teaaching key points

1. Let the students read and understanding the passage chemical or organic farming?

2. Develop the students’reading skills by extensive reading.

Teaching difficult points:

1.  Enable the students to learn to use reading strategies as skimming

Scanning,and so on to do their reading.

2.Get the students to learn about farming.

Teaching procedures:

  Step1.Revision

1.  Check the homework exercises.

2.  Ask the students to translate the sentences to review the –ing form as the subject and object.

1).出国旅行是很激动人心的。

2).在这儿等没用,咱们走回去吧。

3). 我喜欢唱歌,更不用说听音乐了。

4).我记得在哪儿见过她。

5).我后悔没听你的劝告。

   Step2.Warming up

1.  Ask the students to discuss  what they know about farming.Collect their ideas on the blackboard.

2.  Play some videos about chemical and organic farming.

   Step3.Reading

1.  Skimming

Ask the students to look at the picture and the title of this passage to predict what it is about,and then skim the  passage to check and get the main idea.

2.  Scanning

Let the students read the passage carefully and do the following.

(Show the following on the screen.)

1). Answer the following questions.

(1).Why are chemical fertilizers so popular in farming today?

(2).What problems can be caused by using chemical fertilizers?

(3).What is organic farming?

(4).What is the main reason for using organic farming methods?

2). Get the students to fill in the chat.

Methods of organic farming

Advantages of methods

1.Farmers use natural waste from animals.

 

 

 

 

 

3. Post reading

1).Ask the students to read the passage aloud and underline all the usefulexpressions or collocations in the passage.

2).Studying the important language points.

Step4  Consolidation

        Ask the studentsto go back to the passage ,and then write a summary of this passage in their own words.Then ask as many students as possible to come to the front to read their summaries to the class.

Step5  Homework

1.  Finish off the Workbook exercises.

2.  Learn the useful words and expressions by heart.

3.  Tell something about organic farming and its advantages.
